I was born in Colombo, Sri Lanka in 1960. I grew up there, apart from a three-year sojourn in the USA with my family. I migrated to Sydney, Australia in 1990.

Having worked as a public servant for over fifteen years, I now operate a motel in Goulburn NSW.

I hold a Master of Arts in Creative Writing from Macquarie University, Sydney.
I also studied for a diploma in French from the Alliance Franciase and for a Certificate in German as a Foreign Language Philology from the University of Heidelberg, Germany on a German Academic Service Scholarship.

I co-authored a book of poetry 'Paper Boats' in 1988 and my writing has appeared in anthologies and magazines in Australia and overseas.
